OpenCAD ("we", "us", or "our") is operated by CariHQ Ltd. This policy explains what information we collect when you use OpenCAD, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly and information generated by your use of the service.

• Account information — name, email address, and password when you register.
• Project data — building models, drawings, and files you create or upload.
• Usage data — features used, actions taken, and session duration, collected to improve the product.
• Device and browser information — browser type, operating system, IP address, and referring URL.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide, maintain, and improve the OpenCAD service.
• Authenticate your account and keep it secure.
• Sync your projects across devices and enable collaboration.
• Send transactional emails (account creation, password reset, trial status).
• Understand how OpenCAD is used and prioritise product development.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data or project data to third parties.

3. AI Features

OpenCAD includes AI-powered features that may send portions of your project data to a third-party AI provider (Anthropic) to generate responses. Data sent to AI features is used solely to produce the requested output and is not used to train external models. You can disable AI features at any time in Settings.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate OpenCAD:

• Google Firebase — authentication and identity management.
• Google Cloud Platform — file storage and application hosting.
• Anthropic — AI language model provider for AI features.

Each provider's use of data is governed by their own privacy policies.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and project data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is removed from our systems within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@opencad.archi. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required to operate authentication sessions. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

9. Children

OpenCAD is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have done so, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of OpenCAD after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
